Such a gem! We are preparing for a trip to Iceland and this is the only place to get Scandinavian food. Great preparation and perfect decor!

Wow! What a awesome menu. Finally a restaurant that serves Scandinavian food and it was delicious! We tried several different meads and was impressed with all of them. We will be back very soon.

Ship & Shield is a fun concept with some excellent food. We had the Viking Stew, Bison Burger, and the Wild Boar Tenderloin Sandwich. The viking stew was delicious. It was thick, hearty, and filled with delicious types of various types of meat. The pita bread that came with it was absolutely delicious as well and had us wondering if it was house made? We will definitely order more the next time. The bison burger was one of the best I've had in Houston. I ordered it medium rare and it was tender and juicy. The meat itself was flavorful and the toppings were just the right amount. I ordered it with a side of cabbage, which was a bit weird with a burger, but I really wanted to try their cabbage. It was a pretty weird combination, but delicious nonetheless. The wild boar sandwich was excellent as well. However, the sandwich is topped with a heaping amount of cabbage, which overwhelmed the flavor of the boar, but that was easily fixed by putting some of the cabbage to the side. Our server Simon was also excellent. He was very helpful explaining the different types of meads they offered and was a great server overall.

My husband and I went here for their Moonlight Meadery tasting dinner. The 5 course meal, and all of the mead was delicious. The atmosphere was a mix of Viking/Hunter/modern with antlers and axes on the wall, and tv's above the bar. The owner was friendly and happy to answer questions for us.

Great bar with an atmosphere to really set the mood haha. Meade was really good and had fun playing chess with some friends while we were here. Definitely will try to stop by again.

Decor was spot on. Waiter was friendly. Currently a soft opening and limited menu. Has a fire pit and seating outdoors. Dart boards on porch. A white guy made my food. Real Viking? Mead is from Moonlight Meadery. Jukebox inside. Pork tenderloin sandwich was pricey but good.

I really love the theme! Our server/ bartender was very knowledgeable about the mead and craft beers, so it was really nice having drinks recommended to try. The food is also really good too. I would come back and bring some friends.
