This morning was my first time to visit the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) office at 5425 Polk St H, Houston, TX 77023. I have been to several state and federal offices before and have found the service less than desirable. However, I am pleased to say everyone I encountered this morning at the TCEQ office on 5425 Polk was incredibly friendly and helpful. First, I was warmly greeted by the lobby security guard who had me sign in and then offered me directions on where to find the TCEQ office. Second, I was also warmly greeted by Kathy Taylor inside the TCEQ office who listened to my questions and acted promptly to provide the appropriate answer in helping meet my research goals. She called Nita Ayala who quickly arrived in the office to take my research request. Nita Ayala was very knowledgeable at knowing exactly where to look for these documents. She found and handed me the documents I requested and then gave instructions to mark the documents for copying . She also informed me about the cost and method of payment. She then went immediately with a positive attitude and made 81 copies. I must also mention Abigail Kvinge who spoke with my father's lawyer over the phone the other day and who also researched, discovered, gathered, and informed us that these documents actually existed and also gave the proper protocol for getting copies made. She was incredibly helpful from what my father's lawyer told me. What I see at TCEQ is incredible teamwork. Each employee doing her/his best to make things happen for visitors. It was service with a smile too. It was early in the morning right at opening hours. Probably not enough time for them to have their morning coffee and yet what a great attitude each one had!
