I have heard about The Yoga Institute for years, and one of my yoga teacher friends recently received his training there. I have taken this yoga teacher's class, and so enjoyed it. The same yoga teacher invited me to come take an advance yoga teacher training at The Yoga Institute, and I've come to really enjoy the depth of training, the ability to interact with esteemed yoga, meditation teachers. I completed my 200 hr yoga teacher training with Lex and absolutely loved every second. Lex is an amazing teacher/leader and he also brought in additional teachers to give us new perspectives and ideas. I felt very comfortable to make mistakes and ask questions, which creates a wonderful learning environment. Don't hesitate to change your life, thanks Lex!
Training with Lex, starting in 2005 has changed my life. I’ve now owned my studio for 15 years and still attend his advanced trainings anytime I can! I highly recommend, especially folks looking for depth and experience.
I started going to The Yoga Institute in 1979 shortly after moving to Houston. Learning yoga and meditation sent me on a lifelong journey of self discovery and a foundation that I rely upon to this day. Studying with Ram Dass and Steven Levine provided me with the necessary tools to become a hospice nurse. It was, to put it mildly, life affirming and life changing. I never found another yoga instructor that equalled Lex. Namaste.
Sweet man who is a knowledgeable, no bs kind of guy. I’ve done the course with him twice as a refresher several years later with a friend. As a kid about to go off to college, his program was the best thing I ever did for my life as yoga teachers are always needed, and I’ve been teaching yoga ever since!
Awesome. Best teacher to learn yoga from. He is an encyclopedia for yoga. So much knowledge to absorb from. I cant thank enough Uncle lex for his teachings. He is the ultimate yoga "guru".
Lex and the Yoga Institute were my first experience with learning/practicing Yoga many years ago (the 90s!) ! I still practice today and am forever grateful for the learning experience, retreats and friendships made back then and in the years since.
I studied with Lex many, many years ago. Late 70s - early 80s. While I long ago left Houston, I carry those teachings with me. Through Lex, I learned of Ram Dass and went to workshops with Stephen Levine. I learned that yoga is undertaken to learn to sit in silence. The only problem with having started yoga with Lex is that no other yoga instructor — and there have been many — has ever had the impact on me that he had.
