Karen & Steve are phenomenal instructors! They make sure that the groups they instruct are not too large so each person feels that they are getting one on one training. They also do an amazing job at making you feel extremely comfortable underwater. They worked well with my schedule and offered flexibility! I took the course for work certification purposes and they helped make it a passion of mine. The price is a GREAT price as well!! I would recommend Black Pearl Scuba to anyone! I plan to get more certifications with them.

Karen and Steve are fantastic. We couldn't imagine a better way to start our diving journey. They made the gear selection, course work, pool dives, and checkout dives an awesome experience. Their approach as instructors is serious when it needs to be (which we appreciate) and just fun & welcoming during the rest. We look forward to diving with Black Pearl for a long time!
Today I had the best time. I am now an Open water scuba diver and can thank Steve and Karen Hughes of Black Pearl Scuba. What a great organization and shop. Their professionalism was top notch and well worth the time and money. Two thumbs up guys!!!!!
What a great experience... I have always wanted to learn how to Scuba Dive and Karen was a great instructor. I would recommend this Dive Shop to anybody in the Lynchburg.
