How can these people leave legitimate reviews on a place that hasn't opened yet? It even says opening June 18th on the website, yet people say they've stayed multiple times and even booked for Memorial Day. If anyone reads these reviews prior to booking please be aware that the positive reviews are coming from employees of the owner or those affiliated with the construction project. I live near this area and it's sad so much money has been pumped into a bayou (not actually Lake Houston) to make people believe they are getting some kind of Frio River experience. This area floods at any given time and the water is pretty swampy at this location. Buyer beware.

The Retreat is a beautiful resort & campground with glamping amenities. It has full hook up RV sites, covered wagons, luxury cottages, glamping tents and traditional tent campgrounds. The amenities really make the park, they plan to have an outdoor pool, sand volleyball, outdoor games, fishing, boating and lots more. I’ve visited a couple of times and definitely plan to come back a lot!
