For skiing, this place is mega popular so plan ahead! Everybody in the area knows about this resort and it can get busy as a result. Being ready: If you’re renting equipment like I did, make sure you get to the resort at 8:30, before they open at 9:00. The staff can be a little slow and the lines are long. We waited over 45 minutes to get our gear and the lines were pretty short. Lockers will be a necessary add-on at 13 for the day, so keep that in mind. Rentals include helmet, poles, skis/snowboard. Make sure you bring your own gloves and goggles. I found the latter on Amazon for 10 and it was so worth it because it snowed on Day 2 of our trip. The food is exactly what you’d expect at a ski lodge. Maximum one alcoholic drink per meal, as well, so at least they’re enforcing safety? I was impressed with their COVID-19 safety. They made sure to space out the lunch area and keep an eye out on people. They also had extra masks and had staff that were helpful in terms of giving directions to the bathrooms or changing areas. I did not stay overnight at the resort but I was very happy with our experience!

Had a great day on the mountain today. It was crowded, with 10-15 minute wait for lift. Staff was great, and safety protocols were solid. Some people may be turned off by the meat heads/bros from New York, but what can you do? Also, this is definitely not a beginner mountain. The steep bumps on runs like Clair's Way are no joke so be warned. Went into the store which was well stocked with anything you might need. Didn't eat here, but I did see a cabin that sold waffles, so that was a great sign! Finally, the views are really lovely. For me, going here is bigger/better than the Poconos but not as long a trip as Vermont.
Beautiful day out in the snow! Great ski resort for beginners (many easier trails and carpet rides) and advanced skiers. Not so crowded. Short waiting time for lifts. Will come back!
Great day! Not too busy. (Wednesday). Snow decent, some slick parts. Staff friendly. Fun terrain park. There was that little uphill trek to the lifeline when coming off the terrain park run. Why? No unpaid storage with all the Covid drama so pay for a locker (small8 large 13- )beats walking from car with your boots on and it's all day access. Clam chowder- really goodOverall great!
First time to Hunter Mountain and my son and I had a great time! Conditions were great and social distancing measures were in place, clear, and organized. The resort could improve signage and maps to help people get around the mountain, understand the amenities available, and how best to navigate all Hunter has to offer even during Covid restrictions (drop me a note if you need someone to work on this... it is what I do). We really appreciated the great experience, awesome memories, and look forward to returning soon!
