Personally, I would rather drive from Hyannis to Boston. The schedules are basically reserved for Boston-Hyannis passengers, but for the opposite route, It could be a good option for an overnighter, or 2-3 day stay in Boston. But, I like the usage of F40PH-3C's. They really get the job done.
