I am now 'record store people.' I didn't think I would be, but I'm absolutely addicted to this place now. Josh and his shop are such a gift. Thanks High Fidelity for making me ironically discover this Absolute gem of an independently owned shop.

Friendly staff and *tremendous* varied blues selection. And I’m not sure what that other reviewer was talking about; these are some of the very best prices in the DMV.
Great selection of new and used vinyl at really fair prices. Cool assortment of books and used audio equipment too. I always find something new when I go there. My favorite record store in the DC area!
Great selection. Excellent staff. Good prices. Red Onion is the kind of record store I love. There's a good mix of well-organized stuff and bins full of mysteries to flick through. I never leave without at least one surprise purchase.
Sadly in 2018 storefront sales of things like records are dying, and as a result places like this have way overpriced items. A Tori Amos 12" single that caught my eye was priced at 14, whereas it's available online for 1.99 plus 3 shipping. If this place was at all interesting or unique, or if the staff (the one woman present during my visit at least) didn't seem so unwelcoming and disinterested, it might make the difference.
Incredible selection of alt-rock and emo albums. Grabbed a nice Speedy Ortiz record today, and will be coming back soon. Clerk helped me find a place to get my record player repaired, too!
