I wish I could rate higher, but I ended up being a bit disappointed here. We pulled up without a reservation because after calling, we were told that’d be fine and our largish group would just have to be willing to split up. Okay. No problem! But when we pulled up, a rather abrupt woman tried to direct us to the tasting room (we did not want this). The designated FBG professional in our group had us covered and knew what to do (she’d been many times and called ahead). So we eventually got away front he rude lady and found a couple table to sit at outside so we could enjoy some wine, the live music, and the beautiful scenery. It should have been a fantastic experience. But the staff must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed that day. We ordered a few bottles to share and create our own tasting. When the sommelier brought our first wine, she...well....didn’t sell it very well. It was the bubble rose and she just kept going on about how it was a “wild vintage” and just not cooperating. It was super fizzy coming out. I’m not a bubbly person, but she did not make me want to try it. Luckily, the red we ordered were very good. I forgot the names, but I was rather disinclined to buy them as I just don’t even know they wanted our business. Maybe it’s because our group was big enough to need two separate tables. But again, we were fine and perfectly willing to split up! Be nice no matter how annoying you find your guests! I will say that this winery appeared to practice Covid safe policies. All staff were in masks. Overall, it was an okay experience. I truly believe it could have been 4-5star great with friendlier staff and sommeliers that actually took pride in the wine they serve (or idk, maybe don’t serve it if it’s that bad).

Service was fantastic. Jonathon hosted our wine tasting and he was so knowledgeable and friendly- great experience- come as a couple or with friends! Dog friendly. The views were beautiful. Highly recommend- ask for Jonathan!

Firstly, Mary was incredible. She was incredibly knowledgeable and funny and warm. The wine was great as were the paired bites we had reservations for. Due to a cancellation, we were able to snag 2 seats to the shrimp boil. It was great! Sitting in the open air with the setting sun as the perfect backdrop created the perfect evening. Throughout the evening we had interactions with numerous employees and we have come to discover that the William Chris team is just remarkable. The fantastic wines attract fantastic people!

Baby goats and big oaks! This place is just gorgeous. I could sit here all day just enjoying the scenery. Eva was sweet, fun, and great. Hubby did the tastings and we went home with a bottle of the Cinsault, a fruitier wine. They had acoustic live music and the whole atmosphere, from the architecture to the groves, is exactly what would make me come back.

I was looking so forward to my visit to William Chris and it did not disappoint. WC was my introduction to Texas wine. Since the first lockdown from covid I have followed the virtual tastings with a group of friends. Driving into the property is beautiful and so very welcoming, everything is spaced apart and staff are all wearing masks. You are instantly greeted at the welcome center and we were escorted down to an all glass tasting room, seated and welcomed by Kailey. Our tasting hostess Kailey, could not have been any sweeter, knowledgeable and friendly she went above and beyond for us. I most appreciated her attentiveness to my dad who has never been to a wine tasting. After our tasting she walked us around the property and shared the history behind it. I had high expectations coming from the California wine industry and all expectations were met. what a wonderful day today was, I would encourage anyone to go.
