Joshua Smith is amazing but the staff I have dealt with are horrible! There is no follow through with the nurses and severe lack of communication! We have experienced the same thing every year since switching from U of U, no one ever returns calls or knows what going on when you call and they say the will do something and it never gets done, or they simply hang up on you! I waited 3 months for a prior authorization for surgery that was never even started! The nurses have horrible phone ettiquette and are rude as hell when you call trying to find out whats going on! Its quite sad that we have to experience this since Josh is the closest Pediactric endocrinologist to us and he was such a blessing after years of traveling back and forth to Utah.

Dr. Smith was my granddaughter Ava's endocrinologist in Round Rock, Texas before he moved to Idaho. He was absolutely wonderful! She wound up having a Lupron implant in her arm for about 4 years with excellent results. Wonderful doc and we miss him!
Please be my all around doctor!!! The best!! You won't see another 5 star rating from a cynic like me but Dr Smith is the best I have seen, in all doctor specialties. Don't hesitate to take your children to him.
I was a little apprehensive about taking our 21 month old here because of hearing about other family members experiences with endocrinologists but our time with Dr. Smith couldn't have gone better. He listened to all of my concerns, gave insight to what may be happening to our daughter, and gave a care plan that was in depth to our specific needs. Plus the staff was fantastic! Especially when it came to drawing or daughter's blood. I'm very grateful to be on the road to answers.
Idaho Falls is so blessed to have Dr. Smith in town! There is no need to drive to Salt Lake or Boise as we had previously done to see a Pediatric Endocrinologist. We recently took our 7 year old son to see him for an initial consultation after our Pediatrician recommended the visit based on his short stature. Dr. Smith was incredibly thorough, knowledgeable and kind. He took a tremendous amount of time obtaining an accurate history, reviewing previous tests, explaining what those tests meant and outlining a plan for the future. When my son had his 4 hour growth hormone stimulation test performed, he found us in the building to check in on us and answer any questions. When the test results came in, he personally called me to discuss those results. As a pediatric nurse, I know what to expect from a physician and Dr. Smith far exceeded those expectations. I feel much more confident and informed concerning my son's future. I couldn't give a higher recommendation.
Josh is amazing! He was instrumental in diagnosing our daughters Celiacs Disease. He and his staff are amazing!!
