Since its establishment, the ICOPD’s role in County government has continuously evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of the County. The Office of Planning & Development continues to take a proactive approach to addressing county-wide concerns and issues. Our cooperation with the 14 boroughs and 24 townships throughout the County contributes to the balance between existing land uses and growth considerations so that the quality of life in Indiana County can be improved for future generations. The overall purpose of the Office of Planning & Development is to facilitate orderly growth and development that contributes to the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
