James makes the most beautiful blades I've ever seen. The quality for the price is unbelievable and unbeatable. I love supporting Indy Hammered Knives because not only is it a local small business with premium products but it's also ran by a man who loves Jesus, wants to glorify God through his work and has the heart of a teacher. James is a patriot and loves God and loves country. I can't wait to own every blade he offers.

My 18 year old son has been asking to learn how to make a knife and so for Christmas I signed him up for the class but decided to take it along with him. We both could not have been more pleased with our first knife making experience. James is a gifted and patient teacher. He made the same knife we did to show us how along the way but never did a single thing to our knives. He would inspect and make recommendations, but all stages of the process were completed by us. James did not hold back any experience, trade secrets or tools. We used the same equipment and same process he uses on his knives. I highly recommend those interested to take this class. You are not coming out with a railroad spike you made into a knife, you leave with a beautiful, usable knife and a killer experience.

Purchased a knife kit as a gift for my son, quality isn’t inexpensive, in this case the kit is worth every penny. Had an issue with the sheath rivet, Jim called us back and agreed to send out an improved replacement immediately. Great knife, and great customer service. If you’re thinking of purchasing this kit as a gift, you will not be disappointed

Refused to do business with me after asking me why I wanted a custom blade. After I told him it was for my religion, he started spouting Bible quotes at me and refused just because I'm Wiccan. It's blatant and illegal discrimination.

I took this class with my man. We had a great time. James took the time to teach me how to make a knife I could be proud to say is my first knife. He broke everything down in easy to learn steps. It was an experience I will never forget!

Just finished class 33, my second time around in the forge. Once again it was a fantastic experience. James keeps the class sizes small, and everyone gets as much individual attention as they need. The time flies by, and at the end everyone had a very good blades, all done 100% by the student. I've joined the forge as a member, and I can't recommend this class highly enough!

My son and I took the knife making class (Knife Academe). We received excellent instruction and guidance from James and Josh. They provide you careful guidance and honest support throughout the process. We did all of our own work and each of us left with an amazing hand crafted knife.

My wife bought the beginners class for me as a Christmas gift. I couldn't have been happier. James is an excellent teacher. I came into the class with zero knowledge on how to work with metal and left with some excellent basic skills. Not only did I leave with knowledge, but also had a great time with the guy's that were in my class. The class was very laid back. As a person who enjoys being pressured to do better, but have the freedom to make mistakes, this class is exactly what I needed. After my weekend class, I intend to take the next class and improve my skills in a hobby I love. Would suggest anyone considering taking a forging class to attend this one as the atmosphere and teachings are excellent. Thank you James, best wishes.
