Get your urban camping fix on

I used to love shopping here. Always had good products and good friendly staff to help when you needed it. However, the way they have treated their customers through their store “reopening” leaves a lot to be desired. I received fairly rude treatment when all I wanted to do was buy some new hiking boots. I was told all they could do was “curbside pickup” despite the fact that our state at that time had removed retail restrictions. Why would I drive all the way to the store to pickup something I can get shipped to my house? I wanted to go into the store to specifically try and purchase items where things like fit are critical. I now regard REI as an online-only retailer. I don’t plan on returning to this store in-person ever again. Maybe they’re “open” now, maybe they’re not. I don’t care. At this point there’s no reason to go back. Clearly this store didn’t want my business so I took my money elsewhere.

Expensive, but very high quality clothing and gear. Wide variety of outdoor equipment for a variety of activities. Knowledgeable, kind staff too; I love going here!
