Dr. Welsh is amazing. I would highly recommend him. Takes his time and listens to what I have to say. He makes me feel comfortable and not like just another client. Office staff are always very nice and friendly as well.

DO NOT GO HERE! As I see others on here with the same issues I wish I would have spoken up sooner. Last year I had an issue with my Dr. there billing me extra directly outside of their billing system for services being given in house. At the owners request I pulled together all of the relevant documentation and provided it for a conversation that they had agreed to have and then did not follow through on. Seemed like since then things started going down hill for how I was treated by many of the staff. In this year alone I received many bills for hundreds of dollars that did not make sense. Each time I called in and they admitted they shouldn't have sent them to me as there were errors in their accounting system. I recently got a bill for 20 that did not make sense (my bills are always 40) and for once it was my mistake as my wife mailed the check to a different Dr. who cashed it. Instead of accepting my apology and the new check I sent for 60 to also cover my next appointment, even though this is a double standard, they destroyed the check and sent me a certified letter on Christmas Eve to let me know they were cancelling my appointments and that I needed to go elsewhere. No conversation, no benefit of the doubt, and most importantly not the way you should deal with people seeking mental health treatment. I pray you don't make the same mistake I did. If you need help, go somewhere that the owners\\management are concerned about you and your health and less about how much money they can make and drop patients with difficult situations to make their lives easier.

A provider I saw for one appointment only was on her phone visibly texting during our session—looking down, having the ringer on, etc—and seemed inappropriately disengaged. Very disappointed.

Everyone is so nice and understanding. Couldn't be a better office for mental health.

I do not go to this provider any longer, as I now see other providers elsewhere. At Psychiatric Associates I saw Dr. Kimberly VerHoef, Dr. Barbara O'Rourke, and a psychotherapist who had a social work degree (I have forgotten his name). I was always treated with utmost courtesy and respect by everyone. The support staff were great. Dr. VerHoef was very kind and compassionate and listened attentively to my issues. Dr. O'Rourke was very good. The psychotherapist was a nice man, but not very helpful. The last time I visited with Dr. VerHoef I was in a very deep depression and suicidal. I am happy to report I am now in great health. Although I haven't seen Dr. VerHoef in a long time, I remember her with gratitude. O. F. Díaz-Duque, Iowa City.
