Truly awe-inspiring. A hidden gem of a memorial near the Philly waterfront depicting the plight of the Irish immigrants from the potato famine. Very interesting and informative and such a thoughtful centerpiece, which is a cast of what appears to be clay work, as one very large piece portraying the timeline from the discovery of the potato famine straight up to the arrival of the starving immigrants in the new world. Wonderfully thought out and a must see if you're touring around the waterfront, even if only for a quick visit.

A real interesting & impressive monument/memorial about the Irish emigrants. It's relatively inconspicuous, but once you have found it, you will be enthralled by its fascinating appearance and great design. Around the monument you will find a lot of plates which explain the corresponding history behind the gorgeous artwork.
Gave me chills and made me very emotional. This sculpture is breathtaking. I love my Irish heritage.
This memorial was well maintained and quite striking. In addition to the statue, plaques contained information about Irish immigration, the Great Famine and other historical details. The Memorial is well placed next to the river allowing for the open river to the East and Center City to the West. However, it's not as serene because of the nearby highways. Anyone with Irish ancestry should stop by to pay a moment of respect.
Beautiful sculpture depicting the Irish famine known as The Great Hunger. Many of the Irish boldly took to the seas to travel to America in hopes of finding a better chance at life and opportunities. The statue is quite poignant and the artist did a fantastic job depicting both the face of burden and celebration among pride. I hope to update this review with additional photos of all sides of the sculpture. There is much more to this work.
