This is my first year staying at Puerta Del Sol and I have to admit it’s not too bad for an on campus apartment in the middle of a pandemic. I mean it’s not a private resort or anything and there are some issues with the mailing system and the washing machines, but it’s not something that can’t be worked around on. Either way services and COVID protocols are being implemented very well.

I like that we have events with free food! [I just wish I was more available to go to them. :( ] Also wish the printers were working but printing at the front is cool. It’s closer to my apartment anyway. My lights also went out in my room but I got help from the front office pretty quickly. They even shut down the office and came to my room to fix it! And it’s close to campus and Albertsons so that’s awesome. So overall it’s pretty good!
Worst place to live on campus if you have a car. Do not live here if you own a car!!! Parking is 15 minutes walk away and you can only park here for 20 minutes or you get a 75 ticket. What if you have to go home and then go somewhere in an hour. You would lose 30 minutes of time walking to and fro where you are allowed to park for over 30 minutes. Now imagine having to do that everyday. Not only does it suck to walk 15 minutes everyday to the parking structure where you can park your car, it gets hot during the day which makes it worse. I made the temporally fatal mistake of thinking it was a good idea to live here because it was close to campus and walking 15 minutes to my car isn’t going to be that bad. I was dead wrong and have lost so much time, energy and money because of my horrendous decision. This community is not made for you if you have a car.
I’m honestly SO tired of living at this place, and I’m so happy to be getting out of here in a few weeks. It’s been two years, TWO YEARS, and they have yet to take care of their fire alarm issue. At its worst, fire alarms go off at around 8 am and won’t stop until 2-3 hours later. How do they not think to get them fixed or turn them off the moment they notice they’re faulty? This is something that should NOT be a regular occurrence. They house college students, we need our sleep, and it is completely unacceptable that it’s been two years and they still have yet to fix the issue. Do NOT live here unless you constantly wish to be woken by fire alarms or want to walk 15 min to your parking spot. It’s not worth it. You can find cheaper options that are closer to campus with fire alarms that DON’T wake you at ungodly hours and go off for who knows long.
Floor to floor noise is the worst. Do not live here. Management does not know how to solve issues.
