An amazing school that lays foundations for a fruitful faith and a successful college career.
BEST decision Ive made for my children! This school is AMAZING! You dont really see how wonderful it is until you are in. I have four children enrolled in this school and I would not consider sending them anywhere else. Teachers and staff are very caring. They literally care about the development and growth of every one of my children. Teachers go above and beyond, will spend time helping or tutoring as needed. Been at the school for a couple of years, and weve never seen a school like this. Academics and formation teams work together to develop the students in to young men and women that are not just prepared for the world, but are true leaders. We have a highschooler and I now realize how important the right school and the right formation make. Great academics and great formation. Lots of leadership opportunities! One of the best decisions we've made for our children!
If I could give this school 0 stars I would. I attended this school from Kindergarten - 7th grade. As a young child it wasn't bad, but probably because I was not aware of anything that was happening. As I got into middle school that's when things became terrible. 1. The religious aspect of it is extremely one sided and full of lies. I was taught (yes this was in my curriculum) that if you weren't Catholic you couldn't get to heaven. 2. I'm not sure what this school cares about more, money or converting people to their cult like religion. 3. I was constantly targeted in relation to my uniform or any type of clothing because of my body shape. I guess they're afraid of girls who don't have stick figures. 4. They've hired multiple teachers and even a principle who faked degrees. 5. The intensity of the separation of genders resulted in me being socially awkward. It was unhealthy and unnecessary. That's all I have to say about that. This school has honestly scarred me and I would never ever imagine sending my child to such a closed minded school.
I am very, very happy as a parent that my children have had the opportunity to be a part of The Highlands School. Whether your child's 'thing' is sports, drama, activism student gov't or spirituality, there will be a place for them to find a niche here if they want it. Teachers care, Admin cares, and the presence of the priests, Brothers and Consecrated has been a total blessing on all of us. Granted, no place is perfect. The Highlands is not a 'perfect' school. But for me, what is good about it far outweighs any flaw it may display from time to time. THS has been a total blessing to my family, and that's why we're still there. JM
