So excited that our neighborhood gem is back open for dine in. While we miss our happy hours at the bar watching Seki-san work his magic, the stepped-out-of-DC-and-into-Tokyo feel is still there. Plus I could eat their kalbi and potato salad for every meal.

Cool atmosphere, the room is essentially one long counter. I had the best salmon sashimi I’ve had in the city at this place! Also, they have quite the wide range on their menti and the staff are attentive and happy to explain and recommend items. Service was very fast as well, my sushi and rice ball came out to me within minutes. Will definitely go back
Izakaya Seki is a great restaurant, period. Their sashimi is perfectly prepared and well sourced, and their cooked dishes reflect equal care and quality. Take out is available, and the quality doesn't suffer because of care and ingenuity - the onigiri wrapping is nothing short of amazing. Try, and enjoy.
The food is authentic and fresh. No to mention the drink menu. If you love sake then you must visit. However the food is not too much. They said the hot pot is for two but I finished all by myself, even order one extra rice ball.
I and my wife went to DC for the run-away weekend. I have stayed in Tokyo for 3 years and I had to say the food is just average STREET FOOD level and taste, with over marked price. The uni was not sweet at all, taste bland. I don’t want to be rude, but I don’t get the point of people who give a five stars on the food, seriously. I realized we left the credit card on the dining table, We called millions times and no one reply. My wife google it and told me the restaurant doesn’t have a cell phone, they can only be contacted by email. She emailed them, never reply. Fine!!! I don’t know if the owner gonna check this message, but could you give me an idea about the extra tips? The food is 111.65 ( we don’t order any alcohol at all) , I pay 130 which more than 15% tips. I am working on get my new credit card from the bank, so I check the transaction record. Why do you charge 131.65? I don’t mind 1.65 , but you can’t charge whatever you want to, right? I’m back to NY and What should I do now? Call you? Oh you don’t have phone in 21th century. Well done, Seki!
