Children not welcome! Brought my two grandchildren, ages 6 and 4, to pick out birthday cards for their cousins. I stayed close to them both and made sure they were careful with the cards and returned them to their original slots. My granddaughter accidentally dropped a card, no harm done, and as we bent down to pick it up an employee of the store who had been eyeing my grandson suddenly came over, took the card he was holding out of his hand and told him not to touch them. I was standing within two feet of my grandson when she did this : if she had a concern she should have addressed me, not a 4 year old. I do not remember seeing any signs indicating that children are not allowed to touch anything : quite a few of the merchandise in the store is geared towards children. I put the cards back that we had picked out to purchase and let the rude employee know that we would take our business elsewhere. As an afterthought, I went back in and asked for the manager. She seemed to care less about losing a customer.

I will NEVER set foot in this store again. I don't write reviews, but the experience I had there on Saturday made me so angry I had to write this one. I went in with my granddaughter to purchase a Christmas ornament as we have done for many years before the ownership change. I asked to use the restroom. A very rude lady (I'm assuming the owner) told me to go next door to 5 Below. I've never understood why a store would send a customer away and lose a sale over using a bathroom, but that's not what made me really angry. I was headed to the front of the store and a sweet older lady asked if she could help. I told her I needed a restroom and she offered to take me back to theirs. As I was coming out to find my granddaughter, I heard the rude woman yelling at the older woman for letting me use the restroom. And to make it worse, she told her "I already told her NO" as if I was invisible. I felt so bad for the sweet older woman who was being berated just for trying to provide a customer with a good experience. The woman told me I have to understand that people "mess it up". I'm 58. I know how to use a bathroom responsibly. I have shopped at this store for many years and have spent a fair amount of money. But believe me, I don't forget this kind of disregard for customers or for staff. I will NEVER spend another dime in this store.

Honestly love this place and have been coming here for a long time before they remodeled and got new owners but the ladies that work there are VERY rude. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go there they follow me around and creep up on me as if I am going to steel something. As a matter of fact,I’ve seen them do this with almost every customer. It’s like they don’t give you personal space. I have NEVER had a problem with them until the new owners came. The old workers and owners were very sweet and we had a very excellent client relationship. These new ladies are down right rude.They are VERY snarky. I had purchased some things and was standing at the checkout counter for almost 10 minutes before they noticed me, and I was in plain sight. Then they had the audacity to ask if I was ready, as If I’m not already standing there. They need to really work on their attitudes and other things.

I've been going to the Hallmark store for years. They recently remodeled and now this store is so light, bright and airy. Lot of gift ideas and love the cards. The staff and manager are the best.

Love, love, love this store. Always clean and new items being put on display. Staff is friendly and always welcoming as you enter. They will check up on you and see if you are finding what you're looking for. Don't think you will just walk in for a card or two... You will leave with more than you came in for.
