Was looking forward to ordering as the menu online looked great. Place order, thank goodness no credit card was required. Went to pick up and found place was closed (?) Everything was locked up and no one there. Is this a permanent thing??

We came as the dinner/lunch transition was going on so service was a tad slow. There was no Diet Coke so that was unfortunate. The good was very good. The menu had changed to a more limited Chinese food selection, but there was a selection for southern style seafood which was cool. I didn't like the sweet and sour sauce, but if they replaced it with a thinner version of the General Tso sauce it would be a winner. All in all good time but a few dings keeping it from great. Will definitely go back.
Our study abroad group recently got back from China and we were craving authentic Chinese cuisine. Golden House did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend eating here!
A friend who has lived in China recommended this place as the the most authentic he's had in the States. I have been several times now, and never disappointed. You get a lot for price, and the taste is always satisfying. Definitely recommend going with friends and sharing dishes so you can try more.
A fav spot for tasty chinese food. went there on a saturday. the staff was very welcoming and observant. the prices are good for what you get. reminds me of a cafe in chicago i liked to visit.
Was really disappointing. They were the only place in town you could get real Chinese or Cantonese cooking and then they sold out so they’re just another one of those run of the mill dime store fry stops like Tunis. Food dropped in quality on what was left of the “Chinese” menu. Not a golden house anymore. I understand from a business perspective they probably did this to survive in the wake of everything this year. But from a customer perspective there really isn’t a good reason to eat here anymore. It’s why I left a 3 instead of the 1 I wanted to.
One star removed for the fly that hit me in the face when I got there. Yes, I stayed. We ordered fried dumplings and they came out steamed. They we're taken back to the kitchen for a quick fry.. the meat was good but soggy. Dumpling sauce too salty. Beef and broccoli, not bad but could cook a bit longer, more meat please! Tofu and veggies was more like a TON of tofu and bell peppers. Ugh. I can see the potential here, some authentic taste but they need to work out some kinks.
