We are from the area and Loves lookout still takes our breath away! The rest stop is kept very well, restrooms are extremely nice, and the grounds are beautiful. Stop by and have a picnic, enjoy the flowers, or visit the gift shop. Everyone is so friendly, gotta love East Texas! Look at that view.
A rest area with a view is a rare rest area. Go hit vending machine just outside the office, find a picnic seating or just stand if u want, snack it up and enjoy the view. Bring your coffee would be perfect too. I wish they have hot vending machine or... maybe the idea of having a housebrew coffee from the office where I got some brochures would be nice, seems like a great wannabe visitor center, doesnt it :)

This was a beautiful rest stop! We almost went past it, but were enticed by the \35 Mile Views!\ We turned around to get back, and I'm glad we did. The rest stop was everything to be expected of a rest stop and more. The bathrooms were perfectly clean, there was a small information center with brochures, and two vending machines. But the views over the valley are what made this stop memorable. A perfect place to relax on a road trip, and a great destination just to see the views.
