We got scammed by the owners. We had booked this place months in advanced because we were gonna go celebrate my friends bachelorette party in Gatlinburg. We thought it would be nice to go canoeing. We sent money through Zelle because the owner said they didn’t accept cards. The day comes and the address leads you to a house that is in the middle of no where and no lake to be seen. Tried calling the place and a man answers that is not Keith. This man gives us the number to reach Keith. He doesn’t answer any of the calls. We try for about 10 mins and he finally answers. He claims that we never sent the money and he didn’t have a reservation for us. We have prove we did and he says he would send us the money right away. Well he keeps making excuses of why he can’t send the money back. It’s either his Zelle isn’t working or his Venmo. We are on the phone for 45 mins and he doesn’t send the money and finally says it’s because he changed cards and he would call us back. 2 days later and we haven’t heard from him and no answers. Definitely ruined our weekend. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLACE AND DON’T FALL FOR THE SCAM!!!

Booked a week ahead for canoe rentals , arrived on time . The guy was late , bait and tackle store was closed , he said it would be open and had all supplies one could need . Thank goodness we brought our own but we did have to go down the road for bait . When he arrived he brought 2 very worn canoes and worn life vests . We however took the canoes out . Immediately one started taking on water . We turned around went back to shore and called him . He stated okay I am in the office I will be right there . 45 minutes later he returned stating he was in the middle of another business deal and couldn’t get away . Made a comment about how easy it would be to fix the damaged canoe . Said his buddy borrowed it , must have damaged it . Do you not check equipment before you send someone in a lake ???? He did give us 2 kayaks to use in place . Be cautious / I would not do this again and families with Small children Beware!!!!
Called and spoke with Keith in July about reserving 2 canoes for a girls trip. Keith gave me prices and told me that they only accept payments in Zelle or Venmo. I send 109 on July 20th for our reservation. On September 6th, we go to the address listed, and absolutely NOTHING is there. Backroads 45 minutes away from where we were staying, we call the number on file for River Run and a man answers and tells us that it isn't Keith's phone number and would give us Keith's phone number. So we call Keith, he doesn't answer and his mail box is full. Tried to dispute the transaction with my bank and Zelle doesn't have a services not rendered agreement so we are out that money. This business is either POORLY run OR a total scam!!!!
The owner was wonderful to meet and overall I had a beautiful and quiet experience. It was an easy paddle and very relaxing. I did get caught in a thunderstorm but luckily there was enough places to take cover haha. Next time Im in the area Ill be back.
