Great place to stop along the coast! Easy walking paths to the fort area and windmill. The buildings (except for the gift shop) were closed due to COVID-19; the gift shop has a clean restroom, too. Excellent views of the coast and there is a path down to the water.

Great place to spend a couple hours. We got in free with our campsite tag otherwise parking was 8. Kids had a great time exploring the nature trails and historical buildings. We even got to see seals playing and sunbathing down in the water. Cute little walk thru museum and gift shop. Picnic tables and a good sized parking lot if you have a camper in tow. Definitely recommend!

Super interesting Russian fort, including the first windmill in California. Wander the fort or bluffs overlooking the sea. Pet friendly on improved paths (not fort, beach, etc.). Visitors Center under renovation, but gift shop open. Accessible paths, large picnic area, and scenic views. Well worth a stop to explore. State parks pass or day use fee.

Hidden gem. We stumbled upon this park while on a drive and were completely blown away by the beauty of the area and how well preserved this piece of history was. If you're ever in the area make sure and carve out some time to visit.

One of my favorite places to visit. The fort is great, the site over the ocean is stunning. Marine mammals too!

Awesome place. Went when it was closed unfortunately but will definitely be back. Windmill was cool and even did the little hike to the cemetery.

Cool place to stop and check out. The day we were here they were having some kind of historic role playing gig. It was definitely a new experience.

Due to COVID-19 the Fort itself looks like a part of horror movie, no one is here and nothing to happen.. . But if you drop down yourself to the beach you gonna see the life, it is not only a humans :), take a look a little deeper , deeper to the see. Little creatures are around, crabs, starfishes and tones of clams and snails.
