I found this place on a flyer by the park near my house. Something told me to grab one and try it out. It was the best decision I ever made. They worked with me during the pandemic and being that I am public school teacher in NYC, they were able to work around my schedule and budget. The teachers and the atmosphere are very healthy. There’s this mutual understanding of safety, communication and comfort in the community. Something that I know my colleagues and I try to instill when we teach our students about community. All the teachers there are thoughtful, kind and compassionate. I’ve worked closely with one, Emily, and she is super supportive. I can tell she is here to help. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with Helena and she was also super supportive. The recitals are so much fun. I relate a lot of this to my own practices as a teacher. So I think it’s super important to have a goal to show off your growth and skills. The recitals are that opportunity to show the TWVS singing community how far you’ve grown and for the community to show it’s support to you, the singer. It has been a continuous pleasure attending this school.

Voice lessons at TWVS are incredible. I've been taking private lessons with Emily for almost two years and her support and guidance have helped me improve SO much during that time. The community of students and teachers is awesome, super supportive, and really fun! If you're thinking about it, go for it, you really won't regret it.

I had a fear of singing in front of people for most of my life and wanted to overcome my fear. The teachers were very understanding and made me feel very comfortable. With alot of positive encouragement from my teacher (Kat), I was able to become more confident in singing in front of people. The lessons are always fun and I always look forward to my lessons. And impressed by my progresss after taking lessons at Tim Welsh Vocal Studio. I would highly recommend Tim Welsh Vocal Studio!

I wish I could give 10 stars!!!! Tim, Brian and the team at TWVS are actual godsends! I have never felt more supported, informed, and educated in how to take my voice to the next level than I have with them. The location and studio is perfect and I felt comfortable and relaxed. Never once felt nervous or like my skill level would be judged. This is the best decision you will ever make and I have been going back ever since!

It's hard to articulate the impact that TWVS had on me, especially in the last year. When I moved to US in April 2019, one of my goals was to work on my voice, and I was very lucky to find Tim online and chat with him. My first class was with Emily (and I have had 100s of classes since!!), who told me exactly what I needed to hear and reinstalled confidence and passion in my own voice. There is a freedom in all the sessions to be exactly what you want to me while still growing, which is one of the best things in the world, and Emily is literally one of the best teachers one can ask for. Slowly, it became an intrinsic part of my life. One of the most beautiful part of TWVS is that is feels like family. The first adult singing party that I had attended, people told me that they knew Tim and were training with him for upwards of 5 or even 10 years. It felt strange that educational relationships can last that long, but I have really realized what it is!! It's therapy!! Emily with her very warm and fiery creativity and Brian, with his calm and unique musicality, are wonderful mentors and great friends; and if that's something one desires in a teacher (I am sure I did), then TWVS is the place to be. During the pandemic, while the world shut down, another aspect of family opened up. A family that was realized in other students of TWVS, who were equally hungry to sing and connect and live through their music. Our biweekly and often weekly potpourri of musical styles, voices, support and connection made the pandemic more sane for me. I would recommend TWVS to anyone who wants to learn, not only music, but musicality and confidence, and have an entirely new support system in their life (TWVS family).
