Went early the morning of September 15, 2020. The paths along the creek and wetlands provide good opportunities to see a large variety of birds. At one point a flock of 100 Pelicans flew overhead and the sound of their wings was very unique. If you are going to look for wildlife go at sunrise. I went to the designated place to dig for crystals. I walked all the way out toward the lake and kicked at some of the mounds of dirt from previous diggers and was able to find 3 crystals very quickly. Unique place with multiple things to do.

Definitely go for South spillway if you are tent camping. Bring a shovel, you wouldn't want to not go crystal hunting, if you just want a chard the ground is littered with them. Great four mile trail, the head is up some beautiful stairs for the South spillway campground. Don't bother asking the station anything, they don't know.

Beautiful trail, so many different birds and animals to see. It's well-kept, as well. Would totally recommend for a quiet outing.

This was one of the coolest adventures I've ever taken on a road trip. We randomly found this online and decided to check it out. It was pretty hot in July and since the ground is all white it made us feel like we were at home on Alabama beaches (just without the whole water part). We were able to find crystals and bring a couple home as souvenirs! They're probably the most unique souvenir I have ever been able to give someone. I'm thankful this exists!

I really liked this tranquil place. Water was making sound and some splashing while I got near everything was good. There was birds chirping near the water. I really liked the views from different angles. I really think Oklahoma is such an underrated place.
