Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was extremely crowded. The wait time at a restaurant for seating was at the minimum an hour, maxed out at 2 hours and just stopped asking. They did have food trucks, but a lot of them ran out of specific items. The stores were hard to get through, and some of them closed as early as 6:00. The train ride was absolutely beautiful. Open carriage is 20 per person, and closed carriage is 17 per person. But it was worth it. The open carriages were sold out for the day, so our trip was in a closed carriage. The train ride is narrated by the conductor, and at the end of the ride he tells you about other events that will be going on. I didn't check to see if the tickets were available online to reserve open carriage but if you do plan on going, I would definitely check that out and purchase tickets in advance. We're casual clothes and walking shoes. Some parking is pretty far from the train depot. In all, it was very nice trip. Everyone was very friendly. You can't beat the scenic view and the quaint little shops.

Such a lovely experience for kids of all ages. Brought my children to Jim Thorpe to ride the train and now my children's children. Apparently a family tradition. Visit their website for special events and schedule. Informative narration. friendly staff...old fashion fun.

Came to Jim Thorpe for a weekend getaway and had to take the train! It was short and sweet, and the views were lovely! I enjoyed our conductor.
