It's right in the middle of things, easy access to the town

There are no roads into Juneau. If you want to visit then you have to fly in or come in by boat and dock here. A well designated and busy dock for the state capital. Don't forget to visit the Red Dog Saloon while you are in town.

I loved Juneau. Beautiful.
Beautiful port, close to downtown. Managed to get a taxi as soon as we disembarked and did a number of excursions on our own. It rained in the afternoon, so we couldn't go up the tram, which is located right there at the dock. The missus enjoyed walking downtown, I didn't...everywhere you go, someone is trying to sell you something that you probably don't need.
I was here as a part of a cruise to Alaska - a bucket list experience! The ride on this dock was interesting adventure in a wheelchair. With the the cruise industry makes on these trips, you might expect them to invest in the ports they visit.
