Amazing excursion out of Juneau! Combine the seaplane with the lodge at the glacier and it’s hard to surpass this travel experience! Thanks to Bruce our skillful and friendly pilot and the staff at Taku Lodge. The scenery of the flight is a must of any Alaska trip. The remoteness, scenery and food at the lodge were amazing. The lodge staff prepared salmon on an open grill (afterwards a juvenile bear climbed in the fire pit to eat salmon flavored sand) which was delicious along with rice, beans, slaw and amazing bread and the best ginger cookies I’ve ever had. They offer a full but limited bar as well, a fun gift shop and a short guided hike to a water fall. The staff at the lodge were so friendly, thank you for a great experience and kudos to the chef! Sit down in a chair there and enjoy the view and fresh air:)

Second visit there. I love it here. Very peaceful when the planes have left. Staff are awesome. Scenery is gorgeous. If you’re lucky the bears will come out for photos. I highly recommend this place.

This was by far the best excursion I took! The flight over the glaciers was awesome, they are incredibly beautiful, and their expanse has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Taku Lodge is lovely, and the meal was fabulous. The bear, Lois, who came to clean up the grill, was one of the high points. The walk afterwards is recommended but bug spray is a must!! The mosquitos are HUGE and swarm in numbers beyond belief. The grounds are very scenic, and the staff both at the lodge, and at Wings, is terrific. I HIGHLY recommend!

My wife, toddler and I all loved every aspect of what wings had to offer. Great that we were able to reschedule on a rainy day too. Flight there and back was well narrated and beautiful, Taku Lodge was perfectly maintained and meal was delicious! The views around the lodge were delightful too!

Best excursion of the trip! Starting out with the sea plane over and the tour of the glaciers to the incredible food and having it cooked fresh on an open fire to the nature walk around the property; worth every penny and then some!

A big thank you to “Dan the Man” for putting us on comp in front of the glaciers last week. Off the scale excitement and Dan positioned the airplane for some good photo opportunities.

Truly, this was the best excursion of all of our ports on our Alaskan cruise. I love that the Wings Airways is right there by the cruise ships - super easy to find! They immediately put you into groups of 10 and fly you over to the lodge. Members of our group were a little nervous that the fight would be rocky due to the small plane but it was PERFECT! Easy take off and landing on the water. The audio recording was fabulous for providing a background and information for all you could see while in flight. Great pilot. The Taku Glacier Lodge was also amazing! There are two short, scenic hikes near the lodge to just experience the great forest. The dinner was superb! The best salmon ever and the coleslaw, apples, beans, bread and cookies were also amazing! A delicious dinner with plenty for anyone wanting seconds. They shared a great history and background of the area during the dinner as well. After dinner, as we strolled around the lodge, visited the gift shop, took in an amazing glacier view and relaxed, we also had the great opportunity to see TWO black bears! A worker at the lodge kept us all calm and had a bear stick to keep the animals away should they try to interact. They shared the background of the bears who stop by and the desire to never have them fed by humans or have interaction with humans. They were just licking the grease from the salmon bake off the large grill. It was an amazing site and experience. The hospitality and knowledge of all the workers was commendable. I definitely recommend this activity for anyone going to Alaska - it is an unparalleled experience!
