Beautiful natural area... filled with Florida native plants. Great place to go for a run or quick hike.

Free to park & visit. Very well maintained. About 2 miles of paths: 3/4 mile paved, 1 mile compressed sand. 1/4 mile loose sand (service roads). 1/2 the area is shaded. All flat, wide, and unobstructed (wheel chair accessible). 2 river / swamp overlooks. No bathrooms or water, there are garbage cans. No pets... I only observed two other visitors there in my 2 hour visit. Only wildlife was a lizard and I heard some birds.

The walk is actually nice, but what bothered me was seeing all the trash. Did both the north and the south of canal. Sad how people trash the trail. More than a dozen beer cans, a few water and other beverage bottles, etc. Don't know how often maintenance picks up trash along the trails, but the shame is on the people who trash the trail.

Short paved trail (about a quarter mile each way) to a small gazebo at a mangrove-lined riverfront. Alongside a neighborhood. Lots of road noise.
