This was a great experience from start to finish! We made a last-minute reservation by calling (less than an hour before) and were luckily able to get into the second whale watch of the day. The person who made our reservation was so kind! Upon arrival, we were greeted by Captain Dan himself, who gave us instructions on how to pay and board the boat. The experience itself - whale watching - was spectacular. We were able to see a mother/baby duo, and Captain Dan goes as far as giving you a countdown to take the best pictures. You're served snacks throughout the trip by wonderful crew members. The crew also have stories of their own to share. Overall, a great experience - I would recommend this crew to everyone!

Captain Dan was super informative and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our am December visit had minimal surf and tons of whales. So glad we went with Captain Dan for our whale watching tour!

Book this tour! Very impressed with Cap'n McSweeney & his crew. Very kind, made us all feel welcome. Based on the staff & their demeanor alone, this was the best tour experience I've booked in Hawaii. Whale watching takes time (took us about an hour before we spotted a whale). We were provided with proper safety information, EXCELLENT commentary & narration from the the captain with add'l explanations from the crew on everything we passed. They kept us entertained, explained & knew everything, & provided numerous rounds of snacks & a cool towel on the return journey. We saw a mom & her calf and a few other whales. Not too many, but with the captain's explanations that's all you needed!

We absolutely enjoyed this time out on the water, and saw whales consistently throughout the length of the time. Captain Dan’s insights and stories were great, and we not only had fun but also learned a lot about the whales. Saw about a dozen dolphins at the end too. This was a unique experience, and definitely didn’t feel for us like we were on the big beaten path of mass tourism.

Our experience with Captain Dan and his crew was spectacular. We saw large group of pilot whales, spotted dolphins and spinner dolphins. Dan’s extensive and intimate knowledge of whales and other marine life along with his stories of encounters with whales made the trip. Thanks Captain Dan and crew!

We went on a whale watching excursion January 2018 and had the pleasure of seeing 26 whale breaches! There was a mother with a new calf. Came so close we had to turn the ships motor off. Great, experience of a lifetime!

Great experience the third week of January. Cpt Dan knows where the whales are, as much as anyone can for a wild mammal doing it's thing. Good safety and informational tours. We saw several whales and searched for dolphins and different pods. The Cpt turned the boat so that each side could get pictures of the next sighting. He was great in gi6a count down to snap the tail picture. Hint: use the 'burst button' feature on the phone or camera to not miss the shots.
