This trail is insanely beautiful. It is a place anyone who loves nature should at least consider going to. That being said, please consider the following. 1. Take care of the trail and area. Please, please, please pack out what you brought in, and if you see trash, bring it out with you. This beautiful hike needs to be preserved, and it is also the water source for the town of Kanarraville. 2. DO NOT hike this trail if there are storms in the mountains or during the rainy season. Flash floods are deadly. The beauty is not worth your life. Be smart. Be safe.

It is definitely one of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever been on. The problem about it is that it is a one month waiting list but that just goes to show you how gorgeous this trail truly is. There is a lot of water on the way on the trail so you will have to you either pack vacuum seal boots or just be OK with wet feet like I had to be.
If don’t like herd of tourists, clever enough to make before hand reservation, have good legs and in search of meaning to your life, this place it. It’s not part of NPS so you pay extra for permit, but good things cost money, yes, even engagement rings.
This was an amazing hike! You have to have permits. The trail has bathrooms. I suggest that you start early to avoid the crowds and bring water shoes. When I hiked it it was 48 degrees with a water temp of 39 so watch out for cold feet. The staff was great and gave me information as other hikes I may be interested in. Beautiful hike that wasn't very physically demanding, took us longer than they say it should (I want to say maybe 3 hours?) but we stopped and took pictures multiple times. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Gorgeous scenery, the water felt cool but not too cold and it (alongside all the shade) kept us a good temperature despite hiking in 100 August weather. Highly recommend
