I paid my bill Monday 1/18/21 & they decided to charge me for the same amount today on 1/20/21. I’m calling to get my refund & now I’ve been on hold for two hours. I’m recovering from surgery but guess I’ll find a way up there to get my money back. Evergy, do better. Be better.

I wouldn’t have even gave this horrible company 1 star. Since this company merged my light bill has been at least 100 dollars higher in the summer months and 50 dollars higher in the winter when I called to ask why they blamed me and said maybe my house isn’t insulated very well but it is and the year before the merger my highest bill was 303.00 and a year later it was 425 so more than a 100 dollar increase. Also now apparently they only have to give you 14 days to pay your bill if it’s over 150 dollars and they can disconnect your service which they shouldn’t even be allowed to do that this is the worst company Kansas City has ever had for electricity if you can get solar I would definitely do so.

I've never been asked to cycle my electricity usage in the dead of winter, but apparently Evergy is deciding to manually cut off power for up to an hour while it's -5 degrees outside!
My aunt's power was shut off without notice yesterday. When she called evergy they stated she hadn't paid her bill since July which was untrue. She was able to pull her account up and see each consecutive payment. Evergy customer service stated they didn't know where to apply the money since the account is under her previous last name (but she's been remarried for 7 years so that just doesn't make sense). They refused to send someone out until the next day. She needs electricity to power her cpap machine so she can breathe when she sleeps and no one cared. Not even the manager she spoke to. Evergy, you have horrible customer service and it shows. Do better.
