I'm incredibly happy regarding my first visit ever to this welding outfitter. I purchased a couple different gas cylinders from a gentleman on Facebook Marketplace, which happened to come from Matheson. Driving by Front St the day of the Superbowl Parade, I swung into the store on a whim. Being a novice welder, armed with more book smarts than skill or talent, I was loaded with questions for the guys there, which they answered intelligently and helpfully. They never showed any signs of being bothered by some young whelp's incessant chatter, and were super friendly. This is compared to my first and (likely) only visit to PraxAir, where I was accosted by the manager about what he thought I was shoplifting because he heard the crinkle of a chip bag in my coat pocket while I was out of his line of sight. He had the temerity to try to reach into my pocket without permission, which about got him knocked upside the head. Molestation by old, paranoid shopkeepers aside, they had comparatively little inventory and Matheson was by far the brighter, cheerier, and just plain better place to shop at. As it happens, one of the gentleman knew the manager from PraxAir when I shared that story with him, and basically said it was no surprise, that it's just like him to do stuff like that. If you value my two cents, and you're looking for airgas cylinders, gas refills, or any sort of welding/cutting supplies or equipment, I highly recommend Matheson Gas, and I'd say avoid PraxAir - the one at the Crossroads, at the very least.

Super helpful staff! Jordan and Jason run the front and can help with just about everything. They also have a wide selection of PPE and consumables on hand. I'll be using Matheson exclusively from now on.
