It really like a kind of oily fast food. Everything is not typical Chinese food. The worst thing is I got Togo box for Chinese baozi, it was a bit under steamed. Not cooked well. Never go next time

The soup dumplings are legit y'all. As good of soup dumplings as I've found in Houston - the wrapper is not too thick, the filling is rich and flavorful (even without the soup!), and the price is reasonable. Tons of great options here that I would love to try, and I will definitely be back. Small-ish space, though there is seating outside, as well as take-out options, though I'd suggest ordering ahead of time because it took a good 10 minutes for my order to be prepared for take-out.
Best soup dumplings and steamed bao I’ve had in Houston, and I’ve been hunting them! Everything was cooked fresh for us. The boba was a knock-out, too. Guy at the register couldn’t have been kinder. What a find! We will be back.
Love the veggie bun here. Friendly staff.
We ordered pickup for lunch and it was so good. The steamed buns (my 5 year old daughter pretty much ate almost all of them), the Chinese Hamburger and the spicy wonton were our favorite. We will definitely order again. I wish they were open just a bit later.
It's so delicious! How can you make it so delicious! It's great! If you want to eat xiaolongbao, you have to come here.
DISAPPOINTED! I was extremely excited to learn about this dumpling shop during one of my recent visits to Little Vs. Nonetheless, after visiting Bao Shi Yi I can say that I was not very impressed with the quality of the food I got. To me the flavor profile was “average” and definitely tasted like fast food, no flair at all! …not even the chili oil was home made. In total I ended up paying almost 19 for 2 dumpling dishes, not great value for the money. But what I disliked the most was the lack of friendliness from the staff (which seemed to the managers/owners). I really don’t get how these new/emerging restaurants want to grow and attract new customers with this type of attitude.
Food was pretty mediocre, the taste of everything we ordered was a bit off (soup dumplings, date cake, Chinese pancake, fried bread/you tiao, and even the soy milk). If you're used to authentic Chinese taste, you'll find the difference immediately. It's not bad per se, but definitely have room to improve. Would not recommend personally, but if you're looking for a quick bite to eat this isn't bad.
