Not only is this the only option for in person video rentals, which I already feel privileged to have access to locally, but it's also a wonderful video store. For many of us who spent our teenage Friday nights looking for the perfect weekend movies at Blockbuster, Hollywood video, and mom and pop joints in our home towns, this is a taste of childhood. In my experience, Mr. Video tops that nostalgia. The selection here is more than I'd ever hope for as a kid and caters to all genres and tastes, from foreign Oscar winners to classic B movies. I rarely review places but am so happy to have this gem in my city. ( Also late fees happen when you return an item late, big surprise). Thanks Mr. Video! Ecstatic to have you here in be Salem!

My girlfriend found Mr. Video for me, after I lamented just how much I missed physical video stores. Plus, our new apartment did not have cable TV or internet yet, thanks to faulty cable that was installed, so physical media was really our ONLY option at the time. I went there frequently to get videos, and even took my cat [Tibo Bat] a few times. The pandemic has been rough on everyone. I can't afford to go to Mr. Video as often as I would like. Still, when I have a few dollars that I can spend, I take it to Mr. Video and rent something. If we were living in normal times, where I had a job, I would be at Mr. Video every single week. Terry and his wife and family run a decent shop. Every so often, Terry will run some of his ideas by me, as he knows that I'm a huge fan of the video rental business. Terry is VERY into movies. He knows what movies I like [borderline horrible horror movie schlock], and for all the family-friendly and popular titles he's got, he has always presented something new for me. The store is about as comprehensive as it can be. I am concerned that the pandemic will destroy Mr. Video, as it has most of my favorite small businesses nearby. All I can do is keep going and hope for the best. The fact that they're still open is a testament to Terry's dedication to the store, as well as the concept of renting physical media. Today, it is important to appreciate what you do have. For me, I have an appreciation of Mr. Video. Thank you!!!
Well thanks to Mr.Video himself for always going so above and beyond with the customer service I now get in trouble if I go to the movie store without my kids. They beg me to go all the time. I'm thankful I have a video store to go to and especially the bonus that it's close to home. My kids and I have wandered the isles for movies many times. We get to see a ton of titles that introduce us to great new movies we wouldn't have seen otherwise. It's also a great date night stop to grab a movie with my husband. This establishment DESERVES our communities business and not that cheap little redbox that gives you sticky scratched up disc's. Will forever be a customer. Thanks Mr. Video!
One of last video stores in Oregon. Thee only video store in Salem. The owner goes out of his way to keep his library stocked for your viewing pleasure. Everything he does. He does for the customer. He does it for the love of movies. My favorite thing growing up was going to the video store to pick out a game and movie for the weekend. And this is still happening at mr. Video. If I hadn’t moved out of the area I would be here all the time because I’d save so much money on streaming services because the selection here is amazing. I would be here all the time because it is a piece of modern Americana. And I miss it.
It is a fun family environment, the staff are great and the owner's are #1 in my book
