I’m a graduated Binghamton University student who signed w Kellam Development my senior year at their 62 Murray St location. My entire apartment complex (the building Tobey owned) and I had so many issues and problems with them throughout the entire year, and they were so incredibly stingy, dismissive, and unavailable and I urge you NOT to ever sign with them. I moved into this dingy, old, overcharged apartment that was incredibly dirty with things already broken, and when we left, were given only 90 dollars out of our 525 dollar security EACH (3-bedroom apartment) deposit, in which they charged us for things that were already broken when we first arrived, and for the apartment being unkept or dirty when we left. Mind you, when I had first arrived into the apartment, there was rotting food STILL IN THE FRIDGE when I moved in. Throughout the year, we faced so many issues, such as hot water not working for 3 days, heat broken in the middle of december, forcing me and my tenants to go to bed in our winter clothes and not being fixed for days as it occurred over the weekend when Tobey is not working, washing machine breaking down while my clothes are still inside the machine soaking wet, and being told to “wring it out and let it dry outside,” and so, so much more. They are so money hungry and pocketed off all the broke college kids who signed with them while being the most awful landlord ever, so don’t make my mistake and sign w Kellam Development!!! Theyre super nice to you and talk super highly of themselves and make all these promises until they get you to sign the contract; once youve signed they do not care ab u.
