This folk school is an amazing collection of artisans who offer art instruction on traditional and cultural arts. Unlike other folk schools where the instructor and student both fly in to meet at an appointed classroom... at Villages Folk School the student is invited into personal studios and historic buildings throughout the scenic river valley of Van Buren County, Iowa. The student experience is filled with learning, but also relaxation and exploration. Eat at a grist mill turned restaurant, shop the local bulk store, or enjoy time on one of the lakes, Des Moines River, hiking trails, State Park, campgrounds, horse camp or State Forest.
