It takes a lot to get me to write a bad review. But my god. I am in my late 20s and Dr. Brenda Burden spoke to me like I was a kindergartner the entire time. I'm not exactly sure what prompted this behavior. Both she and her tech asked me a lot of very personal and specific questions about a name change that made me uncomfortable. If you're transgender, skip this place, I suspect it won't be fun. I've been here twice and both times have felt like they were trying to get me to buy things I couldn't afford. Overall the experience was tolerable and my prescription seemed okay, however, I made it extremely clear to the office that I could not afford to pay out of pocket. At every other clinic I have been able to get yearly exams covered and pay out of pocket for contact lenses since the allowance is small, but they seemed to not be able to do this. I opted to pay for the exam out of pocket so that I could at least use the insurance allowance on lenses. The reason I'm spending the energy to write this review is because I received a surprise bill in the mail with a hastily handwritten \insurance denied your claim\ on it for 100. A lovely surprise mid pandemic. I am 100% sure my insurance made an error because I spent exactly the correct allowance amount for what it covered, and I have never in my 6 years of this insurance had an issue. Rather than explain what is going on, I got this note.... I regret not going back to my old clinic. Overall, not a great experience and I'm sad to say I wouldn't recommend this place. The only redeeming quality is that at least they were polite while they fleeced me and made me super uncomfortable.

I went for an eye exam and that went great and the doctor was very good and very efficient and thorough. Then they called me to pickup the glasses. When I put them on everything was clear except that I could see 2 images of everything. That is because I have prisms in my glasses and they forgot to put them on the prescription. The woman working ther kept telling me to take them home and try them & I would get used to them maybe. I had to insist 3 times that that was impossible. I have been wearing glasses for over 60 years and knew the problem. I had to be very forceful. Then they wanted me to wait 2 weeks to see the eye doctor again. I left angry and called back a few days later and insisted that I be seen right away. It turns out that the person that I had a problem with was a new employee and she was also having a hard time personally that day. Anyways the doctor figured out that they had forgotten the prisms and redid the glasses. She also did any internal investigation and held a meeting with the employees to discuss what happened so as to prevent it from happening again. So they mad me new glasses, and without my asking agreed to make me another pair of glasses free of charge. They more than fixed the problem and now I think this is one of the best places to go. At least they admit their mistakes and more than make up for it.

After the first visit the made me a reading glass .l came back about a week mentioned that didn't work for me. The personnel in reading glasses as me to use it for longer. I didn't use the glasses anymore. I came back next time there for some other medical reason. They did the same test and the result was different. My eye had astigmatism problem and one degree stronger compaire to almost 9 month before it. They didn't replace my reading glasses ask to pay again. However,l was happy not use the glasses they prescribed me before.

This is my 3rd eye exam here and my 2nd with Dr Burden as my Optometrist. Brenda is super personable and professional, and worth making the drive from Renton up here for my exams. The receptionist was also great to talk to and super friendly and the Medical Assistant was also great, being super personable and taking good notes for the Doctor while getting me through my appointment quickly. It was also great to see this office had some new technology in their office for imaging the eye, which is assuring to see that this practice is keeping up to date in the field. I hope to be a patient here for a long time, and would recommend this practice to anyone!

Eye Dr didn't care to listen to me when I said number 2 is better but still not good enough. Now, I have glasses that don't work for me.
