My kids have been swimming at waves for the past 4 years. This school is outstanding. They have adapted the lessons for kids of all ages. Deck managers and instructors are approachable and will work with you to get the best swimmers as possible.

We have had our children in swimming lessons since they were 9 month old. We recently traded to Wave Swim School due to schedule conflicts. I have been very disappointed. My daughter is 3 and can swim on her own for short distances by herself, but they will not even let her try because that is so unexpected for her age and size. She even received an age waiver before she turned three to be in the next class level (Pink) and they still won't let her swim. There has been months where she had a new instructor each week which likely contributes to the issue of them not understanding how well she can swim. My son tested out of the Green class in the first two weeks, he can swim well on his own and often swims the length of the pool and back without assistance if allowed. Again there seems to be a fear of letting the kids do anything that is not prescribed by the instructor. He has been in the new class for months but he has not learned anything new, and while he enjoys the class because he gets to swim it is not challenging for him in anyway.

My daughter is a water baby and has always loved it, she would jump in with floaties by herself, put her face in the water and have fun. I put her at Wave and after 7 months of going every week she had learned to dog paddle. They hadn't even taught her how to float. A week in Mexico with me and she was floating on front and back and swimming the breast stroke 20 feet with breathing. This school is HORRIBLE. they literally just go through the motions without actually paying attention to the individual kid. So the kid never learns anything. And when i emailed them about it, very politely, they didn't even respond. a month later with no contact from them i took her out of the school with the same comments and still no response. they just don't care. DO NOT take your kid here.

My granddaughter has been swimming every week for about 3 months now. I would've hoped by now, she could at least float on her own. Seems the lesson is exactly the same week after week with no advancement and no specific instruction on one area until they learn it, such as kicking, face floating, back floating etc. very disappointed.
