Not even sure how you could write a bad review for this place. I had came to the ranch 2 years ago and was totally blown away by the beautiful views and the hospitality here that last week we made another trip from Massachusetts (32 hours) just to come back here. And nothing had changed. Stache was the greatest, trusting horse; as all of them are. The guides are SO down to earth and friendly. AND my favorite thing of all time is that this is not a nose to tail trail ride! FREEDOM! Even if you have no experience riding, the guides and the level headed horses will give you the confidence you need. I will most certainly be back for my third time next year. Thank you all SO much for another incredible experience.

What a wonderful experience! The staff were so nice and made it a point to know everyone by name. My daughter is 8 and this was her first trail ride. The guide took the time to teach her how to guide and control her horse (Harley). On the trail he showed us sites and wildlife in the area with a story at every stop. Also, i have to mention that the treatment of the horses were undeniably fantastic. We have declined trail riding in the past because of the treatment of the horses but there was no question that these horses are loved and cared for. I would 100 times over do this again. Do not skip this experience, you will forever regret it! Thank you Rusty Spurr!
We highly recommend Rusty Spurr Ranch and their trail rides. My husband, me and our 11 year old daughter signed up for the 2 hour ride. The owners were very accommodating, keeping us updated on a nearby wildfire and smoke, and reassuring us when they determined our ride would go as planned. The communication was excellent. After arriving at the ranch, we felt cared for by every person with whom we came into contact. The horses were well chosen for our riding abilities and sizes. The orientation to the horses and the adjustment of our tack was reassuring and done well. My daughter never felt uneasy about her horse. The ride itself was outstanding. Our guide, Pete, was terrific. He kept us entertained with stories about the area's history and information about wildlife, plants and more. We loved how this ride was not nose-to-tail, but gave us the chance to feel in control of our horses and to wander with the group over terrain that changed dramatically over the course of the ride, from sagebrush-filled meadows, through aspen groves, to mountain tops. We are already talking about returning for another ride in the spring.
We had a great time today, the 2hr ride seemed just right for us. Anna was very sweet, and a very good guide! The horses were great and very easy to work with and ride. The scenery along the trails was amazing! We would definitely return.
If you choose any other place over this one you are going to regret it! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I have been riding all of my life and this was great because I didn’t have to walk in a straight slow line we got to walk at our own pace and as long as we were all going in the same direction we could kinda walk what ever path we wanted. My friends were all new riders and they found it very easy to do. So it was great for all levels! The staff here is out of this world. Everyone is so kind and amazing! Because of the wild fires we were communicating back and forth to see if we could go. They contacted us everyday to give us an update and got us in which was amazing! This is the place to choose if you want to go riding in Colorado! No real trail just you, your horse, your guide and the mountains! I highly recommend a private 3 hour with Pete!
