With my 1st experience here & the receptionist is WONDERFUL! The 2nd time, even more WONDERFUL! (accommodated me being late: so sorry!) Dr. Siasoopha was AMAZING & really listened to me. I had LASIK in Albany & the doctor there wasn't 1/2 as great as here. You will get QUALITY SERVICE at this location!

Last experience there was terrible. I just needed a simple eye exam since my glasses were getting outdated. I walked in, the staff weren’t the nicest, and I was waiting in the waiting room for almost 45 minutes alone, no one else in there, until I was finally brought into the pre-exam tests and finally the exam room. I was told I have a corneal malformation (?) and that I should have eye pain/strain that may lead to surgery down the road. I’ve never had eye pain or strain of any sort in my life. On top of that, my insurance does not cover their testing, so I had to pay OOP at the door. I cancelled my next appointment and I will be getting a second opinion elsewhere. Never again.

Cataract Surgery with lens replacements: The Biggest Mistake of my Life! In the first two weeks of September 2020 I had my Cataracts removed with laser and the premium Panoptix Lens put in for distance and (see up close with excellent near vision) details. I opted for this when I asked about Lasik as they said I would need to have the cataract surgery later down the road and would be a waste of money that this would be a better option. I spent the extra money out of pocket thinking it's my eyes and want to be able to see all I could I was told this lens would be really good for seeing up close and distance with giving up some night time issues like halos around lights etc. I said that was fine wanted better vision during the day seeing distance and close. I've owned one set of glasses in my lifetime, not to many years. If i took them off I could see and read if I squinted. Today that's not the case. Here we are the last week of October almost two months later. Everything in distance is blurry, I need glasses to see anything up to 3 feet from my face. My phone, computer is set to large print. As I type here, I'm wearing glasses. Yes they told me the risks, yes they said I may still need glasses. But really, after spending over 6000 dollars plus my insurance for the premium package and be worse off than when I started. I can't see road signs till I'm up on top of them They said my vision is really good and I'm progressing very well, I've complained from the start that I was not seeing well If you really don't need cataract surgery stay with your prescription glasses you'll be happy you did. If I had to do it all over I would have gotten new glasses and be able to see everything. Get a second opinion it will be worth the money, trust me.

I'm on the fence lately with a lot of things about Dr Kwiat. I've been going to see him for several years now. About 5 years ago, I had a serious condition develop with one of my eyes. He has been treating it since, with exams and injections into my eye, and it's been working well. However, about a year ago, after a routine exam, he came into the exam room and told me that \the cataracts are about medium sized now.\ Huh? I was NEVER told I HAD even one cataract, let alone two. So that was strike one. Then about six months ago, I went in to have my injection. Within that week, I could tell there was definitely something different that took place because I was experiencing symptoms that I hadn't had with multiple previous injection appointments. When I received my bill in the mail, I found out why. I had been given a different type of injection. When questioned about this, his explanation was fine and made sense. However, why would you not tell your patient that you are making changes to their medication? This is a basic step that a doctor should always take. Strike two. I'm also annoyed that when I questioned the staff and him about the change, they seemed to become a little annoyed.....like I had no right to know the why or the how. So, needless to say, they are bordering on strike three and I am currently browsing other doctors in the area. Between the lack of information regarding cataracts, the attitude and the change in medication without even informing the patient, I've about had it. It's not something that I will enjoy doing because, like I said, Ive been with him for several years, but sometimes I get the impression that he is seriously overbooked and overlooks certain things that really should not be overlooked.
