Fabulous jail building housing this museum! The displays themselves are okay ... but the reason to come here is to talk to the docents about the history and the personal stories that are behind the various collections. I spent over an hour talking to these folks and loved every minute.

Jackie was amazing and was patient with my son asking lots of questions and taught him alot!
Our whole family went to the Texas Heroes Museum and could not have enjoyed the tour more. My teen girls have decided this is their favorite thing they have done in the month we have been visiting all over Texas. That says a lot! The range of things to see and touch, along with the variety of stories told brings something for everyone. The passion and joy from the tour guide makes history come alive and tangible. Thank you!
Thank you Jackie for a great museum experience. Your ability to inform AND tell us Texas and military history in a story form is truly a gift. Best time spent, loved La Grange TX.
My husband and I travel around Texas, so by traveling a lot we come across many museums. I have to say that this was the best "little town" museum that we have ever been to. Trust me, I have been to a lot of museums around the state, and this one takes the cake. First off, the museum is in an old jail, it had a very nice curb appeal to it. The inside of the museum is just as nice as the exterior. Our tour guide was named Jackie, he was very proud showing each artifact and excited to share the history of the museum. Because of his energy, we were even more excited to listen to him talk about the museum. If you are ever going through La Grange or going on a day trip to this place, I would highly recommend stopping here. Also, I would recommend stopping here before you go to Monument Hill (which is only 6 mins away) so you can have deeper understanding of what our Texas Heroes had to endure.
The docent was very informative. Very knowledgeable on the things in the museum. It has a great history and display of history. Definitely worth your time coming in!
Great place to see Texas history. See people fighting in battles and history books of Texas.
A wonderful museum, a delightfully informative tour ! Thank you to the curators of the Texas Heroes Museum! We will defiantly be returning to continue the tour!!
