After speaking with the staff and the owner today, following a video posted online, I was reassured that the families are what matter most to them. The caring demeanor given to me and the compassion displayed lead to some self-reflection about groupthink and being misinformed altogether, which can happen from one-sided posts online. I can completely understand their company's thinking about a safe and free event for families along side their loved ones, away from those who are laid to rest. It's a shame the loudest voices have ruined a potentially community uniting event. All I can say is, speak to this staff with open ears and an open mind. Going in with my own expectations and agenda almost ruined a very comforting experience.

It appears that no matter what is posted with indifference to the previous planned movie event, it is met with a combative rebuttal. I have read through numerous comments regarding the event’s cancellation and sense no remorse for the blatant disrespect of so many people’s deceased loved ones. There is no intention of anyone from this establishment initiating an intelligent response unless it fits the desires of whoever is responsible for managing this page’s content. The administrator seems to be extremely careful not to outwardly say it, but it is basically their way or the highway. Disagreeing with them will do nothing but bring us to their level of impetuous actions. One example is the insensitive congregation planned over the dead without notifying the public in a more widely received platform. Another example is the threat of deleting negative comments. Clearly this person has an issue with their position in life. They yearn to have power and abuse it at all costs. It’s apparent with the reiteration of wanting everyone to fall in line instead of allowing them to express what they really think of poor decisions made for this resting place. People with poor communication skills tend to get easily upset when someone disagrees with their actions. In turn they want to hide the valid opinions of others by making sure nobody sees them. They are also rigid and callous when it comes to the feelings of others. It’s pretty sad that someone would delete a comment just because it isn’t up their alley. Henceforth, I imagine another rebuttal will occur as a result of my review. No need to argue. Just recognize the level of lousy judgement and ridiculous usurping of the rights of those who were laid to rest. I have numerous loved ones buried at this cemetery and am extremely disheartened that their burial grounds are within the likes of Lafayette Memorial Park. That is my umbrage.

This is where my grandparents picked for most of my family to be buried. It used to look a lot better, but hopefully they are working on the grounds to make it better.
