It's closed. Went there after a long walk hoping for a walk but it looked vacant and was locked up tight, with no sign indicating when or if it was ever open to the public. We could see inside a sign saying "welcome to X's baby shower!" But there was also no information on how to rent the facility for an event. We did find a restaurant in the golf course nearby, but initial access to the golf course is by a road which passes through a wrought iron fence with a huge gate. Apparently it's city Park Department land and anyone can walk through (we did, there are paved paths and people waking their dogs), and the restaurant may be open to the public but the whole setup looked to us like a private club so we nearly didn't walk through the course even though it was the best route to our car, and walked by the building with the restaurant without trying to go in. Partly because, as I said above, there was NO SIGN ON THE BOAT HOUSE indicating that one could get any refreshment there.

Great place to exercise around the lake. Please don't leave anything valuable visible the vehicle. Also be aware of raccoons that aren't afraid of people.
The family rented the place for a reception after my sister's funeral around 2pm...it's a very nice place and right on the lake...plenty of parking, but someone broke into my niece's new car and stole some of her important belongings....unfortunately there are no security cameras...so it was not a pleasant experience.... Everything was catered and was very good.

Such a waste just sitting there vacant. I have a couple of the best ideas for that place and places like it that I know will work and be beneficial to everybody. But there's always that big fat roadblock, they make absolutely no sense, it's counterproductive, well this should explain it all, bureaucracy. The end

Nice view of Lake Merced. Easy access to walk outside and see the sunset. Challenging to find parking for big event, though.
We had our company Christmas party here and the space was great. Plenty of room for dancing, the dj and to sit and eat a catered meal. Step outside and you have a great view of the lake. Very nice.
