We had the absolute best time kayaking on their shipwreck tour. Some people in our group were new to kayaking, but the guides were very helpful and attentive. The kayaks were in great shape and it was fun to see through the bottom to the shipwrecks. The water on the lake was just too beautiful! Would love to try another one of their tours.

This was my first time kayaking. I held off reserving a slot because rain was showing in the forecast on and off, I got my tickets at 9am on a Saturday for 1pm and because of the wind I had already anticipated we wouldn’t be going into the caves but I was still excited for the experience! When we arrived we showed 20 minutes early parking was a nightmare, there was spots to park if guests didn’t park inconsiderately taking up multiple parking slots but we figured it out. We signed waivers and were offered complimentary granola bars. I wish they would’ve had seating or something because we stood and waited from 12:30-1:15 for the bus. When we got to the launch area we met Raina and Alexis and they were both friendly girls explaining how things worked and also made some jokes to keep things fun. We got on our Kayak at 1:45pm and we were off! The girls wanted to get us in the caves and made an attempt but Alexis saw the water smacking the sides and advised us we couldn’t go in, which was fine. I got a little motion sick from the waves hitting so I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the breaks. We got back to get off the Kayaks at 3:30pm so now quite 2 hours but I was ready to get off and tired so I didn’t care about the 15 minute time difference lol. Pricing seemed fine to me, I was looking at competitors that had higher pricing for the same time with an identical tour. 120 for 2 people was a much easier pill to swallow than 170 for the exact same thing. Overall, the staff at the location you meet at, the guides, and the bus driver were all friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs.
We booked a Kayak tour the week of our stay in DC. We waited until about two days before to book as we were waiting to see what the weather would look like. The day ended up being beautiful and the staff at Lakeshore were so pleasant and helpful immediately upon our arrival. The tour was great too, scenery was awesome! There were quite a few other groups out due to it being a beautiful day, but that didn’t detract from the trip. Ethan and Raina were helpful, knowledgeable, humorous, and friendly guides. Take a trip with Lakeshore!
Such a great experience! I went on the shipwreck tour with my family. The weather was perfect. Our guides, Emily and Leland, were very knowledgeable about the area and the wrecks. So worth the money! Would go back over and over!
We had a fantastic tour with Jack! It ended up being a private tour, on account of us being the only two who signed up for our particular slot. We did the shipwrecks tour, and conditions were about as perfect as they get for being able to see the wrecks under the water. Jack was extremely knowledgeable on all the history of the wrecks, as well as the general area we toured along the way. We also got a number of very useful tips on how to spend the rest of our time in Door County! I would highly recommend this company (though this is the first and only group we've used so far). The staff were all super friendly and accommodating, and we'll definitely be back to try one of their other tours in the future!
