Worth the drive, friendly people, and wonderful Oregon countryside. If you haven't seen this get out and do it. You just don't see these things every day. I have been through Lakeview a few times, but this is the first I had heard of a gyser. I was sceptical, and then surprised! This baby went off every minute or less.

I did not get to see this geyser erupt but the front desk clerk said that this morning, it blew several times. There is a second geyser in an adjacent pond that I did see blow several times. This is the photo that I am including The desk clerk said that the geyser was created due to the owners trying to drill a well and instead of getting water, they hit the geothermal pool. This was done twice and both times, hot water was drilled into. The main geyser used to blow more often but recently, the Warnen Creek correctional facility drilled into the underground geothermal pool and began pumping hot water up to the facility to use in heating the inside of the buildings.
