I worked at this retirement community for about a year. I had a great immediate boss and coworkers and I absolutely adored the residents. I miss them so much! The issue is the management company itself, Spectrum Retirement. Corporate just does not care about anything besides revenue. The residents and employees deserve more.

Great place to live out your remaining days on this Earth and still have your independence. The views are spectacular. The units are gorgeous.
I moved my mother to Lake Travis Independent Living after what I thought was an excellent tour and lovely facilities. But unfortunately it did not deliver what was promised. Most of the reviews I see are not from those that live there, but have toured the facility or are commenting on being there in the future. However, reality as a resident is different; management is poor. The food is \average\ and I would say below average in spite of being told on tour they had won a food service award...that chef is gone. Maintenance does not respond in a timely manner ....2 months to replace a sink stopper is unacceptable for a senior who uses a filled sink to get the correct temp for washing at night. Telling me they can not fix a broken vent blowing cold air on my mother and that I have to buy a hood myself to fix it...which I did!, is unacceptable and staff telling me to my face that she had created a health and safety issue when the fact was actually that they had not fully tested appliances in her apartment before moving her in and the oven was faulty. downright rude and hurtful. There are multiple other examples I have observed demonstrating staff that say they care and then do something that shows lack of interest in her care and comfort as a senior woman who is also a WWII veteran. She asked to be moved after 2.5 months because of an accumulation of situations of service and broken promises that added up to and resulted in discomfort and stress for her. As I visit her multiple times a week these issues are ones I personally observed. I can not recommend this facility at this time. Hopefully with reviews like this they will make changes so others do not experience what my mother and I did. The high cost of living there does not meet the promised experience for a loved one.
I had a tour with Kathy Henry today. My mother in law will be relocating to Austin soon and we were referred to Kathy by a friend. Kathy was friendly, informative and thoughtful. She is a real asset to this organization. What I saw of the facility was amazing. The facility is top rate. Everything was extremely clean. The food facilities and activity rooms were very nice (full disclosure, I didn’t eat there). The breakfast and dinner menus looked great. The list of activities is thorough and impressive. The pool and related equipment also impressed me. Everyone I met, resident or staff, said hello and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The views from the balconies were incredible. I could go on and on, but you get the idea, I’m extremely impressed. I couldn’t find anything remotely negative about this place. I’m sold.
We have visited this property on two occasions as a possible option for our family member. On both occasions, we were greeted with enthusiasm and friendliness by the front of house staff. And, our experience with the guest relation staff was exceptional. Both Melissa and Cathy were friendly and patient and were not only extremely knowledgeable about the entire facility, but were also passionate about the value of this type service for seniors seeking an exciting option to Independent living. The facilities were well kept, clean and very conveniently organized for the residents. We very much look forward to moving our family member here and fully expect that this caring community will be the key to a happy and healthy lifestyle and valuable toward an extended life in the later years of our family members life.
