Altho other reviewers seem unhappy, we had no problems with the quality of the building or the installation. Three nice young men arrived for a two day job that was buttoned up and weather tight when they left as scheduled the following day. Might be wise to have a firm design and contract in place well before the scheduled work. Also, we ordered in the off season for arrival in January so maybe that helped in the timeliness. Even higher end construction outfits have trouble keeping schedules so don't be surprised with a little 'slippage' Overall, very happy with the product and the service.

We first saw these barns at Lowes and found one we liked but decided it would be better to buy directly from Better Built. They don't have too many showrooms so you either buy off their website or you travel to one of their locations. I happen to be traveling by their location in Lakewood which took a few minutes to find. When I went there, the person there was helpful and took me around through the back of the shop where I could see how the construction was. I thought, given the price and the materials, it was a good deal. It was good to talk to her because not all of the information is on the website. I recommend you either visit a location or call the store to talk to them about how the order goes together. Some things to consider, they require a level place to place the shelter. In our case, we were doing other work in our backyard and we poured a concrete slab for the foundation. However, concrete blocks, etc. can be used but they do not do the site prep. Also, the purchaser is required to caulk and paint the shelter after it is set up. The materials will not withstand long exposure to the elements without being painted and caulked. So don't be surprised when they tell you that is your job. Also, the bottom of the shed does not come with a skirting which you can leave off or in our case, I added skirting to keep critters out from under the shed. We really like the shed and now all of our lawn furniture and yard tools, lawn mower, etc. can sit inside. It looks nice in our back yard. We are very happy with it. The only reason they didn't get a 5 star was because it was not the easiest thing to order using their on-line process. However, we are very happy with the product and the installation.

If this \Better Built Barns\ is connected to the folks in Oregon of the same name BUYER BEWARE.....they took a 50% deposit, made us sign a contract and wait over 2 months for the install....on the designated date, they were a no show, but called and asked if they could reschedule the install for the following Monday. On the morning of that Monday I received an email from Vice President Travis Brown stating that they had decided (no explanation other than that) that they were not going to do the install. We were just floored that any company would have the gall to treat their customers like that with absolutely NO REASON that they could or would give us. While they did return our deposit, we now have to get in the que and wait for another more reputable company to do the work. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, ENERGY AND MONEY WITH THESE MORONS!

I've had BBB construct two sheds for me - a 12x16 slant roof in the middle of nowhere in eastern WA, and a 10x16 country barn in my backyard in the Seattle area. I'm extremely happy with both, good quality materials and the professional crews did excellent (and quick) work. I would highly recommend BBB to anyone considering an outbuilding.

Buyer beware.....the job took twice as long as promised. I made changes over 5 days prior to the build...as per contract. At the end of the job i was presented with 4800.in extra charges that i did not agree to in any manner. Not a single person or representative from Better Built Barns mentioned that there would be any extra charges at any time other than when the job was finished was I told there was a single penny of extra charge in written quote or verbally. Then when i refused to pay the extra the owner berated me asking me \How do you sleep at night\....But yet he is the one that just bills an extra 4800. just because. He also tried to claim that because one of his employees left a message on my phone that they were going to be late ( I still have the message ) that is was informed that there would be extra charges....Not a single person EVER told me that there any additional charge....They tried to charge me 100 to adjust each adjustable pier blocks per block, there are 48 of them for an added charge of 4800.. That is like trying to charge for nailing a nail. I must be crazy expecting my building to be level. The crew also left garbage from the Subway lunch and nails and screws all over the ground. They incorrectly ordered the roof twice and had to bring out two different crews from Oregon to get the job done...Then the owner complains to me about it the extra hours and then to make up for this makes up and extra 4800. in charges that i was not informed about or agreed to until the project was done.
