The complex is VERY nice/clean compared to other places we looked at and reasonably priced. The downsides we’ve encountered are that people don’t know how to pick up their dogs poop, even when the doggie bags that are provided for free are close. Our upstairs neighbors smoke weed, we can smell it in our bathrooms and our master bedroom; it’s very unpleasant but people really don’t care to go outside instead. People park in handicapped spots all the time and it was annoying when my grandparents helped us move here because they had to park far away. Nonetheless management has always been really helpful, informative, and pleasant.

Echelon Apartments is a nice complex in a great location. We lived here for 6 months until our home was ready and we were happy they offered us a 6-month lease option. The 3-bedroom apartment is quite large with enough space for a small house-full of furniture. The location is great if you work on JBLM as the drive is quick and access to I-5 is very close. It's also close to the Lakewood International District with delicious restaurant choices and the Lakewood Town Center. The main office is gorgeous and there is a nice pool and fitness gym. The indoor basketball court looked nice, but it was always locked up. The staff are very nice. My main complaints were the Noise and lack of parking. Some tenants would get very loud late into the night and the Steilacoom Blvd traffic was also loud. Parking can be very difficult to find later in the evenings so it may be worth the extra cost to reserve a covered parking spot or even a garage if they are available. The complex allows dogs of medium to small size and many tenants have wonderful dogs. Some tenants pick up after their dogs while others don't. If you find this review helpful give me a \Like\.
Don’t move here. Not only was my husbands car broken into twice, my car was stolen straight from the parking lot. The apartments did nothing about it. After I got a new car, that one was broken into. Once again the apartments could care less. Oh and our bike that was locked to the pole on our back porch was also stolen. And once again the apartments did nothing. They have no cameras so anyone can get away with anything there. There’s no reason to have a gate if anyone can come and go as they please. Oh and yes the parking is absolutely horrendous.
My husband and I loved living here. We had some tough upstairs neighbors, but that’s expected when living in an apartment. The apartments are spacious and beautiful. We moved away but hope to rent here again in July!
Update: My washer was broken for the last month of living at these apartments and they still charged me the full fee for water. In addition to this, I left the apartment the same as I found it (I have video proof of both) and was only given 81 of my deposit back. That is 16.2% of my original deposit back. So many things wrong with this place 1. I moved in in October and the first contract they sent me was incorrect (had the wrong price) the second time they gave me the contract they switched the dates that my contract was up. 2. My washer broke and they sent someone out to fix it. They needed to order a part that would take 5-7 days; its been a week and no sign of the part. I asked if they would reimburse me going to a laundry mat and they rudely said no. 3. Oh did I mention that when the washer broke it ruined a load of laundry. They refused to pay it and said it wasn't their problem. 4. If you come after 5:00pm you will not find a parking spot. Update: It has now been two weeks without a working washing machine...They have declined to reimburse me for using a laundry mat for two weeks and still no word on when it will be fixed. The only contact I have gotten back is the same automated message they leave on all google reviews.
