Take the time to get off Highway One (yes it is beautiful). Take a hike and see all of this beautiful area. The bridge and ocean are outstanding in this area. Catch the sunset here and it is very dramatic.

I came here on a lab retreat with our team. I have never seen a more pristine and breathtaking place. We tried to get a scope for the place by looking at the Google Photos but seeing the reserve in person puts the photos to shame. I hope our lab is able to make another trip here again. There are several trails around Whale Point and the manager's cabin that are must see's. Particularly the trail that goes down to the ocean. It is a steep walk but well worth it. Highland trail is gorgeous with plenty of shade. Ask the manager about the trail to the waterfall. It is a place you will never forget with beautiful rocks and tourqoise waters. The rocks are coarse and easy to climb so don't be afraid to climb up for the view!

I don't know how I keep getting dragged back here. It's really crumby. You have to like camp...IN A TENT. Can you believe it??? No cell reception or internet. Almost like an escape from modern technological comforts and society. If I didn't dislike this place as much as I do I would sell my first born child to be the reserve supervisor, but I wouldn't because it's terrible. Definitely do not visit. Ever.

Super crummy. Worse place on earth. Steer clear at all costs. One of the cliffs definitely reminds me of when scar killed mufasa. So much poison oak. Rocks are pointy.
